

A native to St. Kisco, Roy Dexheimer '55, has been superintendent of the Batavia City Schools for the past 12 years. He served as supervising principal of South Kortright Center School form 1963-67, and prior to that assignment was assistant to the district principal of the Webster Center School District.
Dexheimer graduated from Hobart in 1955, with a bachelor's degree in English; he served two years in the U.S. Army before going to graduate school at Columbia University, where he received a master's degree in !958. In 1969, he received a doctorate in school administration from the University of Rochester.
As an undergraduate, Dexheimer was awarded the Walter Heatherington Durfee Award, for the most outstanding senior; he has been an active and involved alumnus, serving as president of the Hobart College Alumni Association from 1971-73. He currently serves as an alumnus member t the Board of Trustees of the Colleges.
He also is active in a variety of civic and community organizations.
