


Pulver is the well-known author of "Mrs. Toggle's Zipper" (1991), a picture book for children ages four through eight. "Mrs. Toggle's Zipper" tells the story of a teacher who cannot take off her coat because her zipper is stuck. The book was named to the “Pick of the Lists” by the American Booksellers' Association. Pulver continued with her second ‘Mrs. Toggle' book in the fall of '91 with Mrs. Toggle and the Dinosaur. Other books in the series include "Mrs. Toggle's Class Picture Day" and "Mrs. Toggle's Beautiful Blue Shoe". Other works by Pulver include "Axle Annie" (a “Smithsonian Notable Book” for 1999 and a Nest Literary Classic), "Way to Go Alex!" (inspired by Pulver's son's experiences in the Special Olympics and was endorsed by the National Special Olympics Committee), "Nobody's Mother is in Second Grade," "The Holiday Handwriting School," "Homer and the House Next Door," and "Alicia's Tutu". Recent books include "Punctuation Takes a Vacation," "Christmas for a Kitten," "Axle Annie and the Speed Grump" and "Author Day for Room 3T". She has published stories and articles in Highlights for Children, Ranger Rick, Cricket and Jack and Jill and frequently speaks at school and community events. Her work has received starred reviews from Publisher's Weekly, Weekly Reader Book Club, Trumpet Book Club and Kirkus. Her books have been offered as selections of the Book of the Month Club and Scholastic Book Club.
She resides in Pittsford, N.Y., with husband Don Pulver. Their two children are grown.
