Elliott Varsity House

The Elliott Varsity House houses the newly dedicated Topichak Memorial Team Rooms used by the Hobart football and lacrosse teams, locker rooms for visiting teams and officials, racquetball courts, the office of Outdoor Recrational Activities Program, and a state-of-the-art weight room featuring Cybex equipment. Named in honor of William Elliott, the Elliott Varsity House also houses a training room for the Colleges' athletic trainers.
A special inductee into the Hall of Fame, William Elliott was a true supporter of Hobart and William Smith sports, and he established the Lewis Elliott Memorial Scholarship in 1965 in memory of his father, who was a member of the Hobart class of 1896. More than 80 Hobart and William Smith students have received the prestigious designation "Elliott Scholar," which recognizes financial need, stellar citizenship, diligence in academic pursuits, and commitment to athletics. Elliott's devotion to Hobart and William Smith stemmed largely from his friendships with Rod Ross and Jim Bampton. He served as a Trustee and Honorary Trustee of Hobart and William Smith Colleges from 1965-89 and received an LL.D. from Hobart and William Smith in 1964.
The Hobart and William Smith Colleges athletics Web sites are maintained by the Office of Athletic Communications. With questions concerning athletics events, and other site
