Sports Medicine Facilities

Sports Training roomHobart and William Smith Colleges are very fortunate to have two sports medicine facilities. The main facility is located in Bristol Gymnasium, right in the heart of campus. The second facility is located in the Elliott Varsity House along with Bristol Fieldhouse and Boswell Field. The main room has sufficient space to meet the needs of an ever-increasing number of intercollegiate athletes. Built in 1965, this facility was ahead of its time thanks to the foresight of Joseph Abraham, who designed these facilities.

Each professional staff member has an office area complete with computer capabilities.

The taping service area can efficiently handle athlete preparation needs. The custom designed taping tables also serve as primary storage areas, capable of holding tape and supplies.

The treatment and evaluation section of the room includes three treatment tables. The modality inventory includes an ultrasound and electrical stimulation combination unit, a hydroculator, and a cybex.

The Elliott Varsity House facility includes a taping area, treatment tables, a whirlpool, and an ice machine. Some rehabilitation and treatment is done in this facility but this room is primarily used as a pre-game and practice preparation site.
