HWS Holiday party helps lunch program | ![]() ![]() |
The Hobart and William Smith Colleges' Holiday Party on Saturday, Dec. 17 in the Scandling Center, was a great success. Members of the community joined the Colleges' staff and faculty to donate over 320 pounds of canned ham and other non-perishable food items to the Community Lunch Program.

Two photos from the party appeared in the Dec. 19 edition of the Finger Lakes Times.
The Community Lunch Program began in 1983 as an undertaking of the Interfaith Council in Geneva and the Finger Lakes Social Ministry, now called Catholic Charities of the Finger Lakes.
The program is managed by Geneva resident Marge Shananan with the help of dedicated volunteers, and serves lunch five days a week to those in need in the Geneva area.
Interested volunteers may contact the HWS Public Service Office at serve@hws.edu or ext. 3825 for more information.
