Psycho-educational Services

The Counseling Center provides educational programming relating to psychological concerns—particularly those that are common to college students. Program requests are granted based upon staff availability and student interest. Topics for outreach programming might include (but are not limited to):

  • Body image and/or eating disorders
  • Assertiveness
  • Relationship issues
  • Depression
  • Women’s or men’s issues
  • Anxiety
  • Sexuality

The Counseling Center also provides psycho-educational workshops relating to concerns that are common to college students. These workshops vary in format, but typically involve attending a limited series of meetings devoted to learning about and discussing the topic of interest. Recent workshops have focused on grief, social anxiety, and body image.

Contact someone at the Counseling Center for more information about this programming (ext. 3388). In addition, self-help materials on these and other topics can be found through the “popular links” and “recommended self-help books” sections of this Web site.
